Tokyo, September 20, 2022 (BUSS DESK): Two people were killed and two others were rescued ‘completely unconscious’ after Typhoon Nonmadal hit Japan over the weekend.

The cyclone hit Kagoshima, Japan on Sunday night. The cyclone produced heavy rainfall in the Kyushu region before moving along the west coast.
It weakened into an extratropical cyclone on Tuesday morning and crossed the northeast coast of the country.
The typhoon uprooted many trees and shattered windows in the city, and recorded a month’s worth of rain in 24 hours in parts of the Miyazaki region. Two people died in this area.
Government spokesman Hirozaku Matsuno said that the other two people were rescued in a state of unconsciousness.
He said that authorities are conducting a search operation to rescue another missing person.
He also said that 114 people were injured. 14 of them are in critical condition.
Around 1,40,000 homes across the country remained without power by the early hours of Tuesday. Most of these houses are located in Kyushu.
