Chittagong: In the murder case of Abul Bashar of Kelishahar Union of Patia Police Station, Rabiul Alam has been sentenced to life imprisonment and sentenced to 1 year in prison without paying a fine of 50,000 taka. At the same time, the court acquitted 5 accused.
On Tuesday (September 19), Chittagong Additional District and Sessions Judge ASM Shahidullah Qaiser’s court gave this verdict. The accused was absent from the court at the time of the verdict. Rabiul Alam, sentenced to life imprisonment, is the son of deceased Ahmed Uttar of Sikdar Para, Ratanpur Maulvi Bazar, Kelishahar Union East, Patia Police Station.
Besides, the 5 accused who were acquitted in the case are Mahabubul Alam, Zahirul Alam, Motaherul Alam Prakash Mozaffar Alam, Abdul Shukkur and Rehena Begum.
According to court sources, Kelishahar Union East Ratanpur Moulvi Bazar of Patia police station forcibly cut soil from the boundary in the yard of Abul Bashar’s house on the morning of July 23, 2011. When Abul Bashar prevented him from cutting the soil, he was beaten to death with a native weapon. In this incident, Ayesha Akhtar, wife of Abul Bashar, filed a murder case at Patia Police Station as the plaintiff. Patia police station case number 26 (7) 11 and session case number-659/13. On October 29, 2014, a complaint was filed against 6 accused in the court.
