ADB’s 20 million dollar loan assistance for development projects in the current financial year is under process: Edimon Ginting
Dhaka, September 20, 2022 (BASS): The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is in the process of providing US$ 20 million loan assistance for the development projects of Bangladesh in the current financial year, according to the country director of the organization Edimon Ginting. He informed this information in a meeting held with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Edimon Ginting said that ADB will encourage investment in climate resilient development in addition to providing support for rural and urban development in Bangladesh. He praised the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for keeping the wheels of the economy moving amid the Covid pandemic and said that Bangladesh has set one of the best examples in dealing with the Covid situation.
Finance Minister Mustafa Kamal lauded ADB for its speedy support to Bangladesh’s socio-economic development and to deal with the Covid situation. He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to make Bangladesh a developed and prosperous country by 2041 through her efficient and strong leadership.
The meeting also discussed the celebration of ADB’s 50th anniversary in Bangladesh next year. Note that ADB is one of the main development partners of Bangladesh. So far ADB has provided loan assistance of 27.55 billion US dollars to the Government of Bangladesh.
