Companies are cheating people by increasing the price of bottled LPG on various pretexts

The Department of Consumer Rights Protection has called for an end to manipulation to increase the price of bottled LPG on various pretexts including dollar crisis, Russia-Ukraine war. AHM Sofikuzzaman, director general of the company said, the expansion of the company has an impact on the retail level. Common consumers are affected by this. Consumer rights said the campaign will continue to stabilize the market. And the Consumer Association of Bangladesh-CAB says that the companies are cheating the common consumers by unfairly increasing the prices on lame excuses.

Bottled LPG prices have been increasing unabated for the past two months. Although the price set by the government is 1235 taka, the companies are selling it to the dealers at 1260 taka. And in the retail market, each cylinder is being sold at 1300 to 1400 taka.

What is the reason for the increase in who made it, the artisans behind it? To find out, the National Directorate of Consumer Protection held an in-office interaction with LP gas producers, marketers and business representatives.

Participating retailers say that the marketing companies are selling to them at exorbitant prices.

The representatives of the LPG marketing companies are talking about selling the government at a higher price than the fixed price, on various pretexts including the Ukraine Russia war, the increase in the price of the dollar, the cost of transportation.

CAB says the hike in prices in violation of government directives is nothing but cheating the fans.

And the director general of the consumer rights protection department says that it should be investigated whether there is any big conspiracy behind it.

About 3 million families are using LPG in the country, Safikuzzaman also warned that increasing the price by violating the rules will not be tolerated.
