A former footballer named Sameer Kumar Kundu (59) was killed by a train in Natore. Around 8 am, he fell under the Chilahati-bound Antnagar Titumi Express train at Natore railway station platform.

Deceased Sameer Kumar is the son of Tarekeshwar Kundu of Kapuriapatti area of ​​Kundu town. He is an Assistant Health Inspector working under Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Department of Nat. Currently he was working in Halsa Union Centre.

Rezaul Karim, station master working at Natore railway station, said that on Saturday at 8 am, the train left the platform of Titumi, after which the people present saw a dead body with the head separated from the body on line 1. After learning about the matter, Natore Fire Service and Santahar Railway Police Station were informed. On receiving the information, the fire service personnel came to the spot and recovered the dead body from the line. Initially, Sameer is believed to have committed suicide.

According to local residents, Sameer was infected with corona. After recovering he was recently diagnosed with mental illness. But he went to office regularly and moved normally.

According to the family members of the deceased, Sameer Kundu left home on Saturday morning to take his son to the coaching class. After that he came to know through the police that Sameer Kundu was cut under the train and died.

Santahar Railway Police Station OC Shafiul Azam said that they left for Natore after receiving the information. Necessary action will be taken after post mortem.
