Grandmother and grandson did not go to the wedding ceremony


Two members of the same family, including a school teacher, died in a road accident at Devidwar on the Comilla-Sylhet regional highway.

The accident took place on Friday (September 9) at noon in Sailchar area of ​​Debidwar municipality.

Locals said that around 1 pm on Friday, 5 members of the same family were on their way to a wedding ceremony in Barasalghar village of the upazila on their way to a wedding ceremony in Barasalghar village of the upazila. The driver and 5 passengers were seriously injured. 6 injured people were rescued and shifted first to Debidwar Upazila Health Complex and later to Comilla Medical College Hospital. Teacher Hajera Begum and her grandson Abir died after being taken to Kumek Hospital.

Deceased Hajera Begum (40) is the wife of Bajlur Rahman of Nizam Uddin Fakir’s house in Barera village of Debidwar town area and a teacher of Dhamti Government Primary School of the upazila and grandson of Abir (5) Hajera Begum.

The injured are- the deceased Hajera Begum’s husband Bazlur Rahman (65), daughter Monira Akhtar (14), grandson Ashiq (7) and CNG driver Shanto (20), son of Abdul Alim of North Bhinglabari village of Debidwar town area.

In this regard, the officer in charge of Mirpur Highway Police said. Kamal Uddin said, we went to the spot after receiving the news and did not find anyone injured. Despite going to Devidwar Upazila Health Complex could not get any information. CNG and the truck, which was twisted due to the accident, have been taken into custody.
