Regarding invitation to the path of Allah

Regarding invitation to the path of Allah
Regarding invitation to the path of Allah

Inviting people to the path of Allah is obligatory on the Prophet, Messenger and Muslim believers. In the Qur’an, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is referred to as the beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and said in the Qur’an: O beloved Prophet (pbuh)! You invite people to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good advice and argue with them in a good way. Verily, the Guardian over you knows best who has gone astray from His path, and He knows well who is on the right path. (Surah An-Nahl: 125).

In this verse, inviting to the path of Allah has been declared obligatory or essential. The Arabic word Dawat literally means to call, to call, to invite. The first task of prophets and messengers is to call mankind to Allah. Then the lives, actions and teachings of all the prophets and messengers are only practical interpretations of this call. The special title of Rasoolullah (SAW) is to call to Allah. This feature is analyzed in Al-Qur’an as follows. It was said: O Messenger (PBUH), you are a caller to Allah and a shining lamp by the command of Allah. (Surah Al-Ahzab: 46). Another verse also says: Say, O people of my people, answer the call of the caller to the path of Allah. (Surah Al-Ahqaf: 31).

Following the footsteps of Rasoolullah (SAW) and inviting people to Allah has been made obligatory upon the Ummah. It is mentioned in the Qur’an: There should be a group among you who invite people to goodness, i.e. enjoin good deeds and forbid evil deeds. (Surah Ale Imran: 104). Another verse says: Who is better in speech than the person who calls to Allah? (Surah Fussilat: 33).

However, this invitation must be through Hekmat. The Arabic word Hekmat occurs twenty times in the Qur’an and is used in many senses. The Qur’an has taken the meaning of the word Hekmat of some mufassi in this place. Someone said, Qur’an and Sunnah. And some have decided to prove the argument without proof. And according to some mufassir, pure and strong Sahih words are Hekmat. Therefore, there must be a parsha of Hekmat in the work of dawat. (Tafsir Tabari, Fathul Qadir).

In the same way this dawat should be done through mawizat hasanah’ ie good advice. The literal meaning of the Arabic word mawijatun is to speak a greeting or word in such a way that the opponent’s mind or heart becomes humble to accept it. (Fathul Qadir).

In short, the reward and benefits of accepting the invitation should be pointed out to the opponent and the opponent should be informed about the punishments and disadvantages of not accepting the invitation. (Ibn Kasir). And the meaning of the word ‘Hasanah’ is that the description and title of the caller is such that the opponent’s heart is confirmed, all doubts about the matter are removed and he feels that the caller has no interest in it. Rather, he made this invitation for the sake of good wishes.

It is important to remember that good words or good advice are sometimes delivered in a heartbreaking manner or in such a way that the opponent feels insulted or shocked. The word ‘hasanah’ is attached to reject such practices or practices. The gist of this is that there are two things to keep in mind when inviting an inviter. Firstly: to intelligence and wisdom and secondly: to good advice. Both of these are actually the lifeblood of dawat work and the impact of this class of dawaat is far-reaching.
