Three youths were crushed to death by the wheels of a truck while doing a “motorcycle race” at reckless speed in Kushtia. They are Farooq Hossain (24) of Kumargara village of Sadar Upazila of Kushtia, Rahul (23) of the same area and Jewel (20) of Jugia area. Another person was seriously injured in this incident.

The accident happened near Battala Ansar camp on Kushtia-Khulna road on Friday (September 9) around 9 pm. Fire Service and Civil Defense, Senior Station Officer of Kushtia. Khurshid Anwar confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

The house of Biplab Hossain (24), who was injured in the incident, is in Chaurhas Colonypara area.

Alamgir Hossain, the in-charge sub-inspector (SI) of the local Jagti police camp, told the Dhaka Tribune about the eyewitnesses, “Two youths were killed on the spot while racing a motorcycle at around 9 pm. Another person later died at the hospital.”

Station Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense. Khurshid Anwar said, “At night four-five youths fell on the road while competing on motorcycles. At this time, a speeding truck hit them. Two died on the spot and one died in the hospital. One of the injured is also in critical condition.”

The injured youth was rescued and admitted to Kushtia General Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kushtia Highway Police Station Idris Ali said that four youths on two motorcycles were going towards Kushtia at a reckless speed at night. They suddenly lost control and hit the road in Battail Ansar Camp area of ​​Sadar Upazila. Two died on the spot. Another person died after being taken to hospital. Besides, one person is under treatment with serious injuries.

Police said that they met with the accident due to reckless speed.
