The Wall Bureau, Howrah: A bicycle rider dies after being hit by a lorry in the morning. The incident took place on Friday morning at Banaras Road in Belgachi, Howrah. According to police sources, 60-year-old Sukumar Manna was coming to Salkia market on a bicycle to sell vegetables. At that time, a reckless lorry came and hit him from behind. The person died on the spot.

Meanwhile, the police of Lilua police station rushed to the spot after receiving the information. The lorry was seized but the driver is absconding. According to the preliminary investigation, the accident occurred while the lorry was overtaking. It is to be noted that a few days ago a couple died in a bike accident in Howrah. The accident took place at midnight on Shalop Bridge near Dome. The tragic accident happened on the way back from Didi’s house. According to police sources, the accident happened due to reckless riding.
