BNP standing committee member Dr. Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain said, we do not know if there is any other purpose for this visit.
He said that every time he went to India, he could not claim to have brought something.
He said these things before the chief guest’s speech on the occasion of the 44th founding anniversary of Mahila Dal in front of the central office on Friday afternoon.
Musharraf said, it was the expectation of the people that you (Prime Minister) will visit India and increase the country’s diplomatic power. But what did he bring? Every time he went to India, he could not claim to have brought anything. He himself admitted that what he gave to India will be remembered for the rest of his life. But we have not been able to bring anything worth remembering so far. Went on tour and talked a lot but no deal. Only the MoU has been signed. It means expressing desire. But it’s worthless if it’s not the real deal.
Mosharraf Hossain said, today the Rohingyas have become a great burden to our Bangladesh. Went to India but there was no discussion about the Rohingyas. There was no talk about the constant killings on our border, the constant smuggling of drugs on the border.
He said, BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been imprisoned in a formal judgment. This dictatorial government is not allowing him to go abroad for proper treatment. Our Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman is staying abroad after being sentenced by formal judgment, he is unable to return to the country.
This top leader of BNP said that there is no democracy in the country today, people do not have basic rights, they do not have the right to vote. Today, the economic situation in the country is completely devastated. The people of this government have looted the money of this government syndicate of Bangladesh. Stock market robberies, bank robberies and they are syndicated to inflate prices. But the government cannot control the rise.
He said that the price of fuel oil has been increased by 51 percent. This would not have been possible without an undemocratic government. Today, due to increase in the price of goods, fares in the transport sector have increased, and commodity prices have increased. But the government doesn’t care. This government is not the people’s government.
BNP Standing Committee Member Begum Selima Rahman, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Mahila Dal President Afroza Abbas, General Secretary Sultana Ahmed and Senior Joint Secretary Helen Zereen Khan were present.
