Directorate of Narcotics Control arrested two Rohingyas and one Bengali along with 4 thousand 240 pieces of Yaba in various areas of Chittagong. They were arrested from Karnaphuli and Baklia areas of Chittagong on Friday.
Confirming the matter, Narcotics Control Directorate Assistant Director (Media) Somen Mandal said, Shah Amanat Setu toll plaza area of Chittagong was searched in Marcha Transport passenger bus. One person named Kamal Hussain was arrested. Meanwhile, 1800 pieces of yaba were seized from him. The estimated value of seized yaba is 5 lakh 40 thousand taka. A case has been filed under Narcotics Act at Karnaphuli police station in this incident.
On the other hand, Shyamoli NR Travels passenger bus was searched in Baklia area. A Rohingya named Shafi Alam has been arrested. Meanwhile, 910 pieces of yaba have been seized from him. The estimated value of seized yaba is 2 lakh 97 thousand taka.
The arrested Shafi Alam is a resident of Balukhali Rohingya refugee camp in Ukhia upazila. A case has been filed against him at Baklia police station.
He also said that around 5 o’clock in the morning today, a bus of Marcha Transport was raided in front of the weight scale of the connecting road of Shah Amanat Bridge. A Rohingya named Kaushar Yunus was arrested. Meanwhile, 1400 pieces of yaba have been seized from him. A case has been filed against him at Karnaphuli police station. Arrested Kauchar Yunus is also a resident of Balukhali area of Ukhia Upazila.
