In Pabna Sadar Upazila, an Awami League leader named Saidur Pramanik (50) was publicly shot dead by opponents. This incident took place at Najur intersection of Char Bangabaria of Hemayetpur Union of the upazila at around 1 pm on Friday (September 9). The deceased Saidur Pramanik is the son of deceased Haran Malitha of Char Pratappur Kablipara of Hemayetpur. Advocate Taslim Hasan Sumon confirmed that he is an executive member of Pabna Municipal Awami League. According to the deceased’s family, local residents and the police, Saidur was sitting with some people in a tea shop at Najur Mor just a few minutes before Friday prayers. Some miscreants surrounded them. As his accomplices ran away, the miscreants shot him indiscriminately. He died on the spot. Confirming the matter, Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Masood Alam said, the incident took place around 1 pm. We are on the scene. I can give details later. It is known that Saidur Pramanik is a distant cousin of Alauddin Malitha, the former chairman of Hemayetpur Union. There was a dispute with him since the last Union Parishad election.
