The price of eggs has increased again

The price of eggs has increased again. Four days ago, where the price of eggs per dozen was Tk 115 to Tk 120, now they are selling at Tk 130 to Tk 135.

The sellers say that at the moment there is no logical reason behind the increase in the price, but suddenly the egg traders association has increased the price. Frustrated buyers repeatedly increase the price of eggs even though there is no disruption in production or supply.

This picture was seen on Friday morning (September 9) after visiting several markets in Badda area of the capital.

Low-income people coming to the market say that last week they bought eggs for Tk 120 a dozen. But this week again 10 to 20 rupees extra per dozen. In this situation, life in the capital is becoming difficult.

The sellers say they have nothing to do if the hawkers sell at high prices. Again, the sellers are not able to tell the reason for the sudden price increase.

When asked about the reason for the price increase, traders said that there is no reason for the second round of price increase. Egg Traders Association has syndicated and increased the prices.

Earlier, the price of eggs skyrocketed on the pretext of rising fuel prices. Per dozen eggs go up to 165 to 170 taka. It is also sold at 180 taka in some neighborhood shops. However, the price of eggs decreased to Tk. Within a week, the price of eggs increased again. Price increased by 10 taka per dozen to 130 taka.
