The body of a housewife was recovered from Gangni in Meherpur

Golam Mustafa, Meherpur: The police recovered the body of Nishat Tasneem Urmi (24), a housewife, from the Bazar neighborhood of Gangni in Meherpur. A team of Gangni Thana Police recovered the body from Gangni Health Complex late on Thursday night.

Urmi’s father’s allegation of killing her is being framed as suicide. The police sent the body to Meherpur morgue for post-mortem. Housewife Nishat Tasneem is the wife of Urmi Gangni’s Padma Enterprises owner Hashem Shah’s son Asikuzzaman Prince.

Urmi’s father Gholam Kibria said that late at night, Bei Hashem Shah told on mobile phone that her daughter Urmi was taken to Gangni Health Complex as she was sick. When asked to know the cause of illness, Urmi was informed that she had put a noose on the window of the house. After getting the news, he came to the health complex and found out that Urmi had died long ago. Urmi has injury marks on different parts of her body. It is believed that he was killed and covered up as suicide. Later, when the police were informed, the police took the body into police custody.

SI Shaheen of Gangni Police Station, who recovered the body, said that after receiving the news, the body was taken into police custody and a case of death was registered. The body has been sent to Meherpur morgue. Further legal action will be taken after the autopsy report is received.
