Neeraj Chopra is consistently performing well. They won the Diamond League final by throwing 88.44 meters javelin. Neeraj is the first Indian athlete to win this trophy. Neeraj had previously reached the finals in 2017 and 2018. Neeraj was ranked seventh in 2017. And got fourth place in 2018. But this time he became the champion. Neeraj has been in great form since 2021. He would go for gold in the Olympics in 2021.
Neeraj did not start well
Neeraj did not get off to a good start in the Diamond League final held in Zurich. His first throw was fouled. Then 88.44 meters in the second attempt. While his opponent Vadlejch threw 84.15 meters in the first attempt. Neeraj threw the javelin at a distance of 88.00 meters in the third attempt. India’s golden boy threw 87.00 meters in the fourth attempt. Neeraj threw 83.60 meters last time. On the other hand, Vadlejch’s best throw is 86.94 meters. He came second.
Neeraj could not play in Commonwealth
Neeraj Chopra could not play in the Commonwealth Games due to injury. He was injured. Neeraj won Olympic gold in 2021, Asian Games gold in 2018, Commonwealth Games gold in 2018, Silver in 2022 World Athletics Championships. After that, he wanted to win a trophy in the Diamond League, that dream has now come true.

Neeraj Chopra participated in only 2 legs of the Diamond League in 2022. India’s javelin star reached the Diamond League final after winning the Lausanne leg and finishing second in Stockholm. Neeraj reached the final with 15 points. Jacob Wadlech (27 in 4 events), Julian Weber (19 in 3 events) and Anderson Peters (16 in 2 events) rounded out the top three. All three qualified for the finals.
