The Department of Consumer Rights Protection has fined Samsung and Electra dealers Rs 50 for cheating customers by selling electronics products by adding a price tag on the fixed price of the company and showing a discount. Earlier in the same incident multinational ‘Bata Company’ has also been fined. This operation was conducted in Sadar Road and Girjamahalla of Barisal city. Safia Sultana, the assistant director of the departmental office of the organization and the assistant director of the district office. Shoaib Mia conducted the campaign.

Md. Shah Shoaib Mia told reporters that three companies selling electronics products were fined 80,000 taka in the raid. Among them, these two establishments have been fined 30,000 rupees due to lack of product prices in LG Butterfly-Singer showrooms. Others have been fined 50 thousand rupees.

During the raid, it was found that the real price of a fridge was 22 thousand 900 taka. A tag of 29 thousand 900 taka has been placed on it. There, the price has been fixed at 25 thousand 900 after showing a discount of 4 thousand taka. And after selling this product, the extra profit of the dealer is 3 thousand rupees. In the same showroom, a fridge priced at Tk 35,900 was tagged at Tk 45,900. A discount of Tk 4,000 has been shown on the fridge. If the refrigerator is sold, the additional profit of the dealer is 6 thousand taka.
