Police have arrested two people in Noakhali Begumganj upazila who killed a young man and buried his body due to a family dispute.

On Thursday, SI Anwar Hossain of Begumganj Model Police Station filed a murder case against the deceased’s father and two brothers. Three people were accused.

The accused are the deceased’s father Babul Hossain, brother Emam Hossain, and another brother Nizam Uddin. Among them Babul and Emam Hossain have been arrested by the police. Another accused Nizam is absconding.

Shakeel, son of Babul Hossain of Abdul Karim Haji village of Lalpur village, Ward No. 9, Mirwarishpur Union, Upazila No. 9, sells and consumes drugs. Last Saturday Shakeel came intoxicated after consuming drugs and demanded money from his Fatima. For refusing to pay, he beat his mother mercilessly. This made her unconscious. As a result of this incident, his brother Emam Hossain, Nizam Uddin and father Babul killed him. After finding the body in the house, he buried it on the bank of the pond. This incident spread in the area. Begumganj police went to the spot after receiving the information. Babul and Emam Hossain, after extensive questioning, at one point admitted about the incident. Noakhali Superintendent of Police Shahidul Islam came to the spot after receiving the news. Later, at 8:30 pm, Shakil’s body was recovered and taken to the police station. Sent to Noakhali General Hospital for post-mortem on Thursday.

According to local sources, the deceased Shakeel used to torture the family members of the drug dealer for various reasons. As a result of these incidents, discord arose in the family. At one point, due to the dispute, the family members killed him and buried his body in the ground.
