Motorcyclist Shakeel Ahmed (22) and an unidentified young woman died after being hit by a passenger bus in Shibganj, Bogra. Bus driver Al Amin (40) has been arrested in this incident.

The accident happened at Rahbal port on Bogra-Rangpur highway around 2.30 pm on Sunday.

The deceased is the son of Abdul Majeed of Kamlihar village in Kichak Union of Shakeel Upazila and is an army member by profession. Police said the identity of the unidentified young woman is yet to be known. The arrested bus driver Al Amin is a resident of Mashipur village of Shahjadpur in Sirajganj.

According to police sources, army personnel Shakeel and an unidentified young woman were going towards Gobindganj on a motorcycle on Sunday afternoon. On reaching the Rahbal port of the upazila, the motorcycle lost control and got buried under the Pabna-bound passenger bus leaving from opposite Rangpur. Shakeel and an unidentified young woman died on the spot.

Later, the highway police arrested the killer bus with the driver from Matidali area of ​​Sadar. The body of the deceased and the driver of the bus are in the custody of the highway police.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Gobindganj Highway Police Station Aminul Islam said that the bodies of those killed in the accident were recovered and brought to Gobindganj. The bus with the driver was seized from the Matidali area of ​​Sadar and taken into police custody.
