Bengali tourist dies while trekking in Himachal, two others injured

The Wall Bureau: Hindrance while walking in the mountains. A Bengali tourist died while trekking in Himachal Pradesh. Two others were injured.

The name of the dead tourist is Sujoy Dubey (42). His house is in Amtala, South 24 Parganas. It is said that there were a total of 6 people in the group. They planned to trek from Govinda Wildlife National Park to Chitkul via Khimloga Pass. They left from Liwari village on September 1. Sujoy went missing after falling into a hole in the Khimloga glacier around 4 pm on Saturday. Two other adventurers named Subrata Biswas (49) and Narottam Gayen (50) were seriously injured. Since Subrata Biswas could not even walk, they made a camp and stayed there.

Already the remaining 3 members of the team reached the Indo-Tibetan Border Police camp on Saturday night. They informed the officials there about the entire incident. But due to bad weather, it was late Sunday morning for the rescue team to reach. Two injured have been rescued. Their condition is said to be stable at present.

Devendra Patwal, an officer of the Kinnur Disaster Management Department, said that the group did not take any permission before going on the trek. He said that a case will be filed against those tourists in this regard.
