Police recovered the body of a female garment worker from inside a locked room in Konabari Collegegate area of Gazipur city. The body was sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy on Saturday morning.
The name of the deceased garment worker is Bulbuli Begum (34). She is the daughter of Ay Babu of Bamansata village of Mahadevpur police station in Naogaon district. He worked as a swing helper in a local garment factory. He is a tenant of the house of Mizan Mia, a native of Collegegate area under Konabari police station of the metropolis.
Locals said that Bulbuli used to work in a local clothing factory called Orient Elure Lingerie Limited with her husband Masud Rana in a rented house. This was Bulbuli’s second marriage. On Friday night, Bulbuli’s sister came home to inquire and found the house door locked from outside. Later, with the help of locals, they broke the lock and entered and found Bulbuli’s body lying on the floor of the house. On receiving information, Konabari police went to the spot and recovered the body. At that time Swami Masud was not there.
Officer-in-charge of GMP Konabari police station Abu Siddique said that after receiving information, the police recovered the body of a female garment worker lying in the middle of the house. It is initially believed that he was strangled to death. She also said that her husband has been absconding ever since this incident. Legal action in this regard is under process.
