Foreign Minister and Member of Parliament for Sylhet-1 Constituency Dr. The Sammilit Natya Parishad Sylhet has submitted a written application regarding the renovation of Rikabibazar Kabi Nazrul Auditorium to AK Abdul Momen.

Auditorium users are facing extreme difficulties in cultural events, plays, government, private and political events due to AC, stage lights and various problems of the auditorium since last few years. Highlighting such reality, the leaders requested the foreign minister’s intervention in the quick renovation of Kabi Nazrul Auditorium.

On Saturday (September 3) morning, Natya Parishad leaders made a written request in this regard.

The Foreign Minister found the application very reasonable and directed the Sylhet Zilla Parishad to take necessary steps to reform it. He assured his utmost cooperation in the renovation of Kabi Nazrul Auditorium.

Meanwhile, in the written application, they mentioned, ‘In this divisional city, we have been conducting various cultural activities at Rikabibazar Kabi Nazrul Auditorium using our limited infrastructure. But it is a matter of great regret that the air-conditioning system in this auditorium has been completely broken for several years. For a long time, the lighting management equipment of the stage has also been completely broken. For any drama or cultural activity, lighting equipment needs to be hired from outside. Which is also very expensive. In order to stage cultural events in a beautiful and sophisticated manner, the overall renovation of the auditorium including air-conditioning, lighting management and the main stage and open stage of Kabi Nazrul Auditorium in the divisional city is very important.

On this occasion, the Chief Director of Combined Theater Council Sylhet Arindam Dutta Chandan, President Mishfaq Ahmed Mishu and General Secretary Rajat Kanti Gupta were present.
