The mystery of the murder of sensational autovan driver Haroon Or Rashid Haroon (40) in Dupchanchia of Bogra has been revealed. He was killed by hacking and cutting the vein of his leg because he refused to take four people in a van while intoxicated.

Among the two arrested, Muktar Hossain (40) confessed under section 164 in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Jinia Jahan of Bogra on Saturday afternoon.

The other Md. Shakil (25) was remanded for seven days and the court granted two days. Dupchanchia police station OC Abul Kalam Azad gave this information.

According to police and Ezahar sources, the battery-operated autovan driver killed Harun or Rashid Harun is the son of deceased Moin Fakir of Islampur Barabaria village of Sadar Union of Dupchanchia upazila. He lived with his family in Ghatmagura village of Chamrul Union of the same upazila for the last five years. On October 28, Sunday afternoon, he left home with a van. He did not return home that night. The next morning, his bloody body was found lying in the paddy field of Kushwahar village of the upazila. His autovan was found at Matherpukur area along the Dupchanchia-Akkelpur road, about three kilometers away, but four batteries were missing. Wife Azeda filed a murder case against unknown persons at Bibi police station.

On Saturday afternoon, Dupchanchia police station OC Abul Kalam Azad said that those involved in Harun’s murder were identified using information technology. On Friday evening, Muktar Hossain (40), the son of deceased Shukur Ali of Ashunja village of the upazila, who carried the bodies of the deceased in the van, and the foster son of Zillur Rahman of Chhota Joypurpara, the truck helper Md. Shakeel (25). During the interrogation, Muktar Hossain confessed to the murder and revealed the reason. Shakeel refused to confess.

According to Muktar Hossain, the four of them rode Haroon’s van after taking drugs and roamed around in different areas. Sometimes everyone gets mad at Aaron when he refuses to pick them up in the van. They plan to kill Aaron. According to the plan, the three of them rented a van for 200 taka at CO office intersection on August 28 around 10 pm. On the way to Akkelpur road, another person got into the van at Dimshahar road junction. The four of them roamed around in different areas for about five hours. At the end, we reached an empty place next to the paved road of Kushwahar village of the upazila. Then Muktar, Shakeel and two others started getting drunk after taking drugs. Harun, the driver, got angry and refused to take them in the van. Then a servant scared Harun by the head and took him down from the van. Then someone stabs Aaron with a knife. Cut the leg veins to ensure death and fled with the van. About three kilometers away, the van stalled in Bagan at Matherpukur area of ​​Vatahar. Then they left the van there and removed the four batteries.

OC Abul Kalam Azad said they had planned to kill Haroon in anger over his refusal to take the van. They had no intention of robbing the battery that day. It may have worked to cover expenses after hiding. Muktar Hossain and Shakeel were produced in the court of Bogra Senior Judicial Magistrate Jinia Jahan on Saturday afternoon. Among them, Muktar gave a confessional statement under Section 164.

If Shakil refused to confess, he was remanded for seven days. The court granted his two-day remand. Later, Muktar was sent to Bogra Jail. After five days of the murder, there was relief among the relatives of the deceased as the mystery of the murder was revealed. The OC also said that the operation is on to arrest the other two absconding accused.
