Dhaka: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said to BNP that the people of the country have not joined you yet. Which mouth said the decision? The decision will be in the final game of the next election. Then you will see who wins and who loses.
He said these things at the annual conference of the Bangladesh Chhatra League Sammilita private university branch at Khamarbari Krishibid Institution auditorium in the capital on Saturday (September 3).
In the speech of the chief guest, Obaidul Quader said, “The whole world is going through instability.” Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the first head of government to say that our people are suffering. That means he has accepted the reality. Still, the call of movement can be heard here.’
Addressing BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Obaidul Quader said, ‘The throat dries up when the movement is going on, but the tide does not come in the dead river. Will the tide ever come?’
He said, ‘We know what cycle Rapajpatte is in now. Convicted money-laundering criminal Prince beckons from across the Thames. I don’t know if the waves in the Thames river have risen in that call? But there are no waves in Padma-Meghna-Yamuna.’
Obaidul Quader claimed that the tide does not come in the dry river of BNP and said, ‘Do you shout as much as you can? I am also saying that the decision will be made. The decision will be in the election. The decision will be made in the next election. They want to throw the body on the road with threats. You are now in a vicious cycle of dumping corpses. The opposition could not make a decision in any movement separated from the people by leaving the dead body.
General secretary of Awami League said, ‘Government will be removed. Then let’s see how the people respond. Still nowhere people have responded. People do not fight with anyone. Your movement means fighting, throwing chairs. Your protest means the fault of the police, attack on the police.’
He also said, ‘Mirza Fakhrul wants to warn you, there are many blood stains on your hands. Your hands are stained with the blood of 21 thousand Awami League workers, Ahsanullah Master, Manjurul Imam, SM Kibria. We did not kill any of you. We do not believe in assassination conspiracy politics. There have been 20 assassination attempts on our leader. But no one went to kill Khaleda Zia, who does he slander.’
Obaidul Quader also commented that everyone knows the story of Ziaur Rahman’s body being buried in Chandrima Udyan from Chittagong. In this regard, he said, ‘You yourself are the Secretary General. He brought the body from Chittagong to Chandrima and performed the funeral. Who saw the body at the funeral? You can show a picture. Want a picture of you? Show a picture of the dead body.’
General Secretary Azizul Hakim Samrat presided over the conference under the chairmanship of Zahid Hossain Parvez, President of Combined Private University Branch Chhatra League. Awami League Office Secretary and Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Barrister Biplab Barua, Bangladesh Chhatra League President Al Nahian Khan Joy, General Secretary Writer Bhattacharya and others spoke as special guests.
