Today’s WebDesk: The three accused ran away after sprinkling lime powder in their eyes and looting 6 crore rupees worth of jewellery.
But the last defense did not happen. After the robbery, one of the accused bought tea through ‘Paytm’. And therein lies the danger. Police have arrested three youths on the basis of online money transactions. The names of the three accused youths are Nagesh Kumar (28), Shivam (23) and Manish Kumar (22). All three are residents of Najafgarh in Delhi.
The incident happened on Wednesday. A delivery man named Sombir working in a parcel company in Chandigarh was going towards DBG Road with his colleague Jagdeep Saini from Paharganj office on Wednesday afternoon. After reaching the Millennium Hotel, they saw two men standing there. One of them is in police uniform.
Allegedly, two youths blocked Sombeer’s way saying that their bags would be searched after that. Then two more youths arrived at the scene. After that, the accused suddenly sprinkled lime powder in Sombir’s eyes and took a bag full of jewelry. The accused also threatened while fleeing. Sombir approached the police after the incident. The investigation began. Investigators examined more than 700 CCTV footages. In one of them, the accused are seen talking to a cab driver. One of them paid Tk 100 to the driver’s account through Paytm to buy tea. Police identified the accused on the basis of financial transactions.
Investigators learned that the accused had gone to Rajasthan after the robbery. A team of Delhi Police left for Jaipur to arrest them. Three youths have been arrested. 6 thousand 270 grams of gold, 3 kg of silver, 106 diamonds and other jewelry were recovered from the arrested. The market value of which is about 6 crore rupees. Another accused involved in the incident is being sought. It is known that Nagesh is the mastermind behind this robbery.
