BNP has organized various programs across the country on the occasion of the 44th founding anniversary of the party. Centrally, the party took out a procession in the afternoon after laying wreaths at the grave of party founder Ziaur Rahman in the capital. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed anger over the killing of Jubo Dal workers in Narayanganj by the police in the pre-showatra rally in the afternoon. He said, the movement cannot be suppressed by disappearance, killing, torture.


Today, Thursday, the procession started in front of the party’s central office in Naya Paltan at 4:30 pm and ended at the Jatiya Press Club at the intersection of Vijay Nagar and Paltan. Thousands of leaders and activists of BNP and other organizations participated in this program with large-sized national flags and party flags as well as colorful banners-festoons, portraits of Ziaur Rahman-Khaleda Zia-Tareek Rahman and various musical instruments. There were horse carts and elephants at night.

Standing on the temporary stage on the truck, the BNP Secretary General said that the government has deported democracy from Bangladesh in a very planned manner. To bring back democracy in the country, the government must be overthrown by creating a movement.

In the presence of thousands of activists of BNP and its affiliates, traffic was stopped on the road from Fakirapool to Vijayagar Mor. There is a heavy traffic jam on the surrounding roads.

Metropolitan BNP North convener Aman Ullah Aman presided over and member secretary Aminul Haque conducted the rally, Metropolitan South convener Abdus Salam, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi spoke.

Apart from BNP Secretary General Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, the party’s central leaders participated in the procession.

Earlier in the afternoon, Mirza Fakhrul Islam, after placing wreaths on Zia’s grave, said that if BNP comes to power in the future, a new commission will be formed to investigate Ziaur Rahman’s murder.
