The hanging body of a young man named Sajal Barua (28) was recovered from Raujan in Chittagong. The deceased Sajal Barua is the son of deceased Nirmal Barua of South Joynagar Baruapara of Ward No. 9 of Kadalpur Union. Police recovered the body on Thursday (September 1) afternoon.
It is known that Sajal Barua’s body was hanging from the beam inside his house. In the morning, the family members found out and informed the police and local UP members.
Locals said that the deceased Sajal Barua was in exile for many years. After moving to the country a few years ago, he never left. Later he worked in a private company in Chittagong city. He lived at home for the past one year. He was busy with mobile-computer all day. It is believed that he was addicted to internet based games.
Sajib Barua, the younger brother of the deceased, said that his elder brother Sajal Barua went to India for visa processing to go to Romania in Europe. But he did not go to Europe from there. Moreover, his family was in debt to go abroad.
Ali Akbar, a local UP member, said that the police came and recovered the body after reporting the incident to the police station. However, it is not known what caused the suicide.
Abdullah Al Haroon, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Raujan Police Station, said that the hanging body was recovered from the scene. The body has been sent to Chittagong Medical College (CHMEC) Hospital morgue for post-mortem. After receiving the report, the details of the incident will be known.
