Neeraj Chopra created history by winning the gold medal at the Olympic Games held in Tokyo last year. Chopra’s gold in the men’s javelin throw was the first individual honor for an Indian in track and field athletics at the Olympics and the second individual honor after Abhinav Bindra. Abhinav Bindra won the top prize in shooting at the Olympics in 2008. In 2020 Neeraj Chopra won the gold by throwing 87.58 meters javelin. This time, Neeraj donated his gold javelin to the Olympic Museum in Switzerland. Neeraj Chopra said that he has taken this initiative to encourage the next generation in javelin throw.
