In the history of the world, so much blood has not been shed in any other month like the month of August: Minister of State for Culture

Minister of State for Culture KM Khalid MP said that as much blood has been shed in the history of the world, no other month has shed so much blood as in the month of August. On August 15, 1975, the anti-independence evil assassins killed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest father of the Bengali nation, with his family through a terrible conspiracy. On August 21, 2004, a terrible grenade attack was carried out to make the Bangladesh Awami League leaderless. On August 6 and 9, 1945, atomic bombs were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by imperialist America.

The Minister of State said this in his speech as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the month-long program entitled “Strength from grief, determination to fulfill dreams” organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on the occasion of the sad August at the National Theater Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital this evening. Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky spoke as a special guest at the event, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Md. Abul Mansoor.

The chief guest said that Ziaur Rahman’s family was involved in each of the assassinations or attempted assassinations on Bangabandhu’s family. He said that the father of the nation Bangabandhu was brutally killed in his family by the direct conspiracy of Ziaur Rahman under the supervision of the US intelligence agency CIA. KM Khalid said that attempts have been made to kill honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina 19 times so far. But by the mercy of Almighty Allah and the prayers of the people, he was saved every time.

Secretary of Culture in the speech of the special guest. Abul Mansoor said, Bangladesh’s independence was not an accidental event. The Bengali nation gained the much-desired independence through the long twenty-three years of agitation-struggle and bloody liberation war under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The secretary said, the territory called Bangladesh or Bangabhumi has never been managed or ruled by any child of this country. Bangabandhu was the first son of this soil who got the responsibility of leading the country by bringing independence to this land. He said that gold man is one of the main artisans of Bangabandhu’s dream of building a golden Bengal. And it is possible to make a golden person through cultural practice.

Later, the State Minister delivered the chief guest speech at the closing phase of the month-long special program of recitation and discussion titled ‘Shravan Shokgatha’ organized by Bangladesh Recitation Coordinating Council on the occasion of the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day-2022 at the open stage adjacent to the coffee house of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
