The body of the child named Tawheed (4) who fell from the boat in Sunamganj’s Doarabazar Upazila, was recovered by the diving team of the Fire Service about twenty hours later.

The dead body of the child was recovered from the Khasiamara river near the house of Abdun Noor in Mirpur village of Surma union of the upazila on Wednesday (August 31).

Yesterday (August 30) the child drowned in the water and went missing. That child’s name is Tawheed (4). He is the son of Samraj Mia of Mirpur village.

According to local sources, on Tuesday evening, Tawheed went to the Khasia Mara river with his father. When the father was busy tying the boat, he avoided his father’s eyes and fell into the water while climbing into their own boat at the river ghat. At that time, the people of the neighboring house shouted when they saw him fall from the boat. Tawheed was not found even after jumping into the river to rescue him. Family members and local people first tried to rescue him. Later Doarabazar Fire Service was informed.

Sunamganj Fire Service’s diving team conducted a rescue operation and rescued the child dead.

Saidul Islam confirmed the truth of the incident and said that a five-member diving team went to the spot after receiving the news. The fire service recovered the child’s body in a two-hour operation. The body of the child was recovered and handed over to the relatives.
