Delhi Capitals registered the highest team score in Indian Premier League (IPL) history against Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday.
Delhi’s highest score was 231 runs in four matches against Kings XI Punjab in 2011. The team was then known as “Delhi Daredevils”.
On Saturday DC scored 257 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Jake Fraser-McGurk topped the list with 84 off 27 balls. Shai Hope’s 17-ball 41 and Tristan Stubbs’ unbeaten 25-ball 48 also contributed to Delhi’s huge total.
Delhi’s batsmen hit a total of 17 sixes in an innings on Saturday, the team’s second highest in a single match. Its best score was 20 sixes, achieved in 2017 chasing 209 runs against the now defunct Gujarat Lions.
