The admission test for the academic year 2023-24 in 24 universities clustered through the science unit is going to start today. The exam will be held on Saturday (April 27) from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Architecture practical (drawing) exam will be conducted on the same day from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
Humanities unit ‘B’ admission test will be held on May 3 (Friday). And on May 10 (Friday) the admission test for ‘C’ Unit-Commerce will be held. The admission test of these two units will continue from 11 am to 12 noon.
All preparations for the entrance exam have already been completed. Meanwhile, special attention is being paid to the safety of the students during the ongoing heat wave. The Vice Chancellor of Jessore University of Science and Technology Prof. Dr. confirmed the fact. Md. Anwar Hossain said that all the universities have been requested to take proper preventive measures during the heat wave. At the same time, I am calling upon the Vice-Chancellors of the concerned universities under the cluster to provide sufficient fresh water and first aid supplies in the examination centers for the protection of the admitted candidates.
Incidentally, 3 lakh 5 thousand 346 applications have been submitted against the total of 21 thousand seats in the cluster universities this year. Accordingly, 15 aspirants will fight for each seat. This year’s batch admission test application is open from 12-27 February. During this period, 1 lakh 70 thousand 599 applications have been submitted in ‘A’ unit of science branch, 94 thousand 631 in ‘B’ unit of humanities branch and 40 thousand 116 applications in ‘C’ unit of business education branch.
Note that GST Admission System or Batch Admission Test is an annual integrated admission test system of Bangladesh. The admission eligibility of students of 9 general, 12 science and technology and 1 digital universities of the country is determined through the cluster system.
Apart from the cluster process, separate cluster admission tests are conducted for agriculture faculty of 7 agricultural universities and one science and technology university and engineering cluster admission test for three engineering universities. Apart from the four autonomous universities and BUETs operating under the 1973 Ordinance, some specialized universities are not covered by this cluster admission test.
However, the Government of Bangladesh, the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission have adopted a plan to introduce a single integrated admission test for all government or public universities in the country from the academic year 2023-24.
