The body of a speech-impaired young man named Rana Fakir (24) was recovered by the diving team of the fire service after 3 hours after he went missing after bathing in the river in Shariatpur Municipal area. The body was recovered from Kirtinasha river in Charpalong area of ​​the municipality after Friday evening. Deceased Rana Fakir is the son of Zakir Fakir of Chandani area of ​​Bhojeshwar Union of Naria Upazila. According to local and fire service sources, Rana Fakir was growing up with her aunt Tania in the municipality’s Rupnagar area since childhood. He was born with a speech impediment and some mental imbalance. He suddenly drowned while taking a bath in Kirtinasha river in Charpalong area around 3 pm on Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, Rana drowned in the water before the nearby people rescued him. Later, the local people quickly called the fire service through emergency service 999. The fire service personnel came and recovered his body through divers after 3 hours. In this regard, Shariatpur Fire Service Station Officer Abdul Hakeem Khan said, we received a call through emergency services and rushed to the spot. Later we brought a diver from Madaripur and rescued him dead. In this regard, Sadar Hospital Medical Officer Shahriar Yasin said that a young man was brought in due to drowning. But he died before he could be brought to the hospital. In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Palong Model Police Station Mejbah Uddin Ahmed said, the police have been sent after receiving information. Further action will be taken in this case.
