Tangail teenager stabbed to death, 1 arrested
Armaan Kabir: [২] A teenager named Mohammed Saim (14) was stabbed to death in Tangail. In this incident, police and DB conducted a joint operation and arrested a person named Obaidul (45).
[৩] The incident took place in Ranagacha area of Gharinda Union of Sadar Upazila on Thursday (April 25) evening. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Tangail Sadar police station. Lokman Hossain confirmed the matter.
[৪] The deceased Saim Gharinda Union of Gosai Zoair village Md. Abdul Halim is Mia’s son. He was an eighth standard student of the local Azim Memorial High School.
[৫] The victim’s mother filed a murder case at Tangail Sadar police station on Thursday night naming Obaidul as the main accused and 5 others as the plaintiff.
[৬] Later in the night, police and DB conducted a joint operation and arrested the main accused in the case named Obaidul from Ranagacha area.
[৭] Local UP member Saddam Hossain said that on Thursday evening Kishore Saim came out of the house saying he was going to a place called Ranagacha (next to the house) of Gharinda Union of Tangail Sadar Upazila. Saim and his friends had an argument with Obaidul, a grocer of Ranagacha area, over a trivial matter. At one stage of the argument, Obaidul hit Saim in the chest with a shop knife. Later he was rescued by his friends with serious injuries and brought to Sime’s house. His family members rushed him to Tangail General Hospital where the attending doctor declared Saim brought dead.
[৮] The deceased’s uncle Sohag said that Saim was murdered. But what happened that my nephew had to be killed. I demand immediate arrest and punishment of the killers.
[৯] Gharinda Union Parishad Chairman Tofail Ahmed said, as far as I know, Saim was seriously injured by stabbing due to an earlier quarrel. Later he was taken to Tangail General Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead. I demand immediate justice for this murder.
[১০] Officer-in-charge (OC) of Tangail Sadar police station. Lokman Hossain said that Obaidul, the main accused in the case, was arrested in a joint operation by police and DB on Thursday night. Operations are underway to arrest the other accused in the case.
[১১] He also said that Saim’s mother filed a murder case at Tangail Sadar police station the night before. The body of deceased Saim was handed over to the family on Friday (April 26) after an autopsy at Tangail General Hospital. Edit: savings trust
