A mother named Ranu Begum (55) was killed by her son in Faridganj of Chandpur. The incident took place on Friday (April 26) in Ichapur village of Paikpara South Union of Upazila. After receiving the information, the police recovered the body from the spot.
After the incident, when the accused son Russell was running away, the police arrested him from Keroa village of Faridganj municipal area.
The deceased’s husband Atar Khan said, Russell is the youngest among my three daughters and two sons. For the past few days we have been threatening to get her married. He killed me too. I work as a cook in a local Madrasah. The son calls me at 2:49 pm and says who is keeping his mother slaughtered at home. Then I was sure that the wife was killed by the child.
He also said that after cutting the call, he came home immediately and found his wife’s body lying on the bed. The boy ran away. Later on my shout, the locals came and informed the police.
Local UP chairman Hossain Ahmed Rajan Sheikh said, I rushed to the spot after receiving the news. I learned that Russell is the youngest among the five children of the deceased. The eldest son Farooq lived in Dhaka for five years. Does not keep track of parents at home. The remaining three daughters are married and live in their husband’s house. Russell works as a laborer in a grocery store in Faridganj market. For the past few days she has been threatening her parents to get her married. He also threatens to kill his parents if he does not get married.
Confirming the matter, Saidul Islam, OC of Faridganj police station, said that after receiving information, we recovered the body from the spot. SP Circle Pankaj Kumar visited the spot. According to the statement of the woman’s husband Atar Khan and her daughter Shaheen, she was killed by her younger son Russell. The accused has been arrested. A murder case is pending in the police station in this regard.
