The rescue team of Chapainawabganj Fire Service and Civil Defense recovered the body of a mentally challenged person from inside the abandoned house of deep tubewell in Nachole, Chapainawabganj. This incident took place in the upazila of Nejampur UP on Friday (April 26) morning.

Officer-in-charge of Nachol police station Tarekur Rahman Sarkar confirmed the truth of the incident and said that at around 11:00 AM Roni Burman (23), son of Chaitanya Burman, son of Chaitanya Burman of the same village, fell inside the house pipe of the abandoned deep tubewell of Tushar Burman village of East Nezampur UP of the upazila. The farmers who were going to irrigate the paddy field, first heard Roni Burman’s screams and rushed forward, but they did not see him inside the house. Later, Roni Burman’s relatives informed Nachol police station and Nachol fire station, police and fire service teams reached the spot and started rescue work. But their efforts failed. Later Chapainawabganj Fire Service and Civil Defense were informed, they recovered Roni Burman’s body from the depth of 160 feet of the abandoned house at 4 pm.

Roni Burman’s father Chaitanya Burman said that he was suffering from epilepsy for about 15/16 years. The family of Roni Burman, the father of 3 children, is mourning in this incident.

OC Tarekur Rahman Sarkar said that the body has been sent to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Preparations are underway to file a case in Nachol police station.
