A young man is accused of hacking a woman technician to death by going to the concerned electricity office due to high bills. He had already gone to the office to express his dissatisfaction with the electricity bill, but because nothing was done, he committed this murder. Later, the police arrested the accused youth.

The murder took place in the Pune district of the western state of Maharashtra on Wednesday. A woman technician of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) was hacked to death following a dispute over electricity bills in Pune district, the country’s media outlet India Today reported. A 33-year-old youth of the district committed the murder, police said.

An officer of Pune’s Supa police station said that a young man named Abhijit Pot attacked a woman technician named Rinku Thait (26) in the office of MSEDCL at Morgaon in Baramati village on Wednesday morning.

Abhijit had earlier complained that his home electricity bill was Rs 570 more. But no action was taken by the electricity office regarding his complaint.

He suddenly entered the electricity office on Wednesday morning and attacked Rinku Thait. Rinku was seriously injured. Later he was rescued and taken to the hospital. He died there while undergoing treatment.
