Nadia: A young man died in a terrible road accident on the national highway. The family is saddened by the incident. On his way back from Nimantaran’s home, the bike lost control and first hit the guardwall of the national highway, then rammed into a lorry. A young man named Abhijit Adhikari died on the spot.
The dead youth’s house is in Vhiri area of Krishnanagar in Nadia. According to family sources, on Thursday night, Abhijit went to Shantipur for dinner with a friend. Then the accident took place on National Highway No. 12 while returning home at midnight. The bike hit the guardwall hard, then overturned and hit the back of a lorry. In this accident, Abhijeet’s friend who was sitting on the back of the bike suffered minor injuries but was seriously injured. He was rushed to the hospital with the help of locals and the doctors declared him dead.

The police of Shantipur police station recovered the body of the young man that night. Abhijeet’s body was sent to the Ranaghat police morgue for post-mortem on Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, the family of the dead youth claimed that Abhijit was riding the bike wearing a helmet. Even then, they are devastated that the son of the house has met such a tragic end.
