Srirampur Trinamool candidate Kalyan Banerjee dropped Kanchan Mallick from the campaign car. Within 24 hours of that incident, a poster warning Rachna Banerjee was read in Chunchura. It reads, ‘Today is with Kanchan, tomorrow may be with you (Didi number one), artists have no value in this Bengal.’ ‘Joy Bangla’ is written at the bottom of the poster. However, it is still not clear who put up this poster. In this context, Hooghly Trinamool candidate Rachna Banerjee said, ‘I think all artists should get respect. But I don’t know what happened in Kanchan’s case, so I can’t say. If the poster reads that it might happen to me, I’ll say it hasn’t happened to me yet. I am not supporting either Kanchan or Kalyanda. Because I don’t know the whole thing, what happened.’

On the other hand, Suresh Sau, general secretary of BJP in Hooghly organizational district, said, ‘A few days ago the MLA of Balagarh was removed from the stage. This time Kanchan Mallick was dropped from the car in Srirampur. We BJP used to say that there is no respect for artists and writers in Trinamool. And now Trinamool people are making posters and informing about it. It is also clear from what is happening that they have no respect.
