Extreme heatwave continues in the western district of Chuadanga. As a result, human suffering continues.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 42.7 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga at 3 pm on Friday, which is the highest temperature in the country this year, according to the District Meteorological Office.

Meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department. Shahinul Islam told The Daily Star that the highest temperature in the country this year was 42.7 degrees Celsius recorded in Chuadanga at noon today.
Jaminur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Chuadanga Meteorological Office, told Daily Star, ‘Very intense heat has continued over Chuadanga district since yesterday. The temperature may rise here in the last few days of April.’
The weather in Chuadanga has been warm since the beginning of the current pre-monsoon season. Gradually, the heat wave in the district has turned from severe to very severe. This has also increased public discomfort.
It has been seen on the ground that people are taking shelter in the shade of trees to get some relief in the heat. Some are drinking unhealthy drinks on the pavement.
Mustafizur Rahman, an easybike driver of Damurhuda bus stand, said, “It’s a tough heat.” Surya remembers the mother and child. We poor people go out on our stomachs. I’m going to have a cold drink from the shop on the side of the road.’
The Meteorological Department considers temperatures between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius as mild heat wave, between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius as moderate heat wave, between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius as severe heat wave and above 42 degree Celsius as extreme heat wave.
Experts say that scientific evidence and climate records suggest that Bangladesh has been experiencing warming and its persistence over the past few decades.
Experts comment on the ongoing heat wave, due to the high humidity in the air in Bangladesh, the temperature is felt four to five degrees higher than the actual temperature. Due to which the general discomfort is also high.
