Journalist Shariful Islam (42), who was injured in a road accident in Kushtia, died while undergoing treatment in Rajshahi. Injured in the accident on Thursday afternoon, he was first treated at Kushtia General Hospital and later at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. He died at 5:30 am on Friday while undergoing treatment there.

Deceased Shariful Kushtia is the son of deceased Nader Ali Mondal of Gatepara village of Dhubail Union of Mirpur Upazila. He used to work as Mirpur Upazila Correspondent of Dainik Amar Sangbad Patrika published from Dhaka. He was a member of Kushtia Press Club and General Secretary of Mirpur Reporters Unity.

Local journalist Khandkar Naeem Uddin said that Shariful was returning home from Kushtia on Thursday afternoon. Shariful was seriously injured in a collision with a motorized van in front of JTI in Tantibandh area of ​​Kushtia-Meherpur regional road. In this situation, local people rescued him and took him to Kushtia General Hospital. When his condition worsened, he was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment. He died while undergoing treatment there.
