A farmer named Abdul Hakim Jomaddar (60) was beaten to death due to a land dispute in Bagerhat’s Morelganj. The murder took place in Guatla village of Nishanbaria union of the upazila on Friday (April 26) morning. The deceased Hakim Jomaddar is the son of Ayub Ali Jomaddar of Guatla village. Meanwhile, 7 more people were injured.

The other injured are Harun Jomadder (50), Latif Jomadder (55), Rashid Jomadder (42), Alam Howlader (70), Liton Howlader (45), Jamila Begum (50) and Mehdi Hasan (35).

According to the family sources of the deceased, around 7 o’clock in the morning, 10-12 men led by Shahidul Hawladar, an opponent of the same village, attacked Hakim Jomaddar in the first round. Leave it on the street.

Locals rescued him and took him to Morelganj Upazila Hospital, the doctor on duty. Shahriar Fattah declared him dead.

In this regard, Mohammad Samsuddin, the officer in charge of the police station, said from the scene, one person was killed and several others were injured in the fight. The police have taken control of the situation. An operation has been started to arrest the killers of the deceased Hakeem Jomaddar.
