The police recovered the bloody body of a garment worker named Anju Khatun (31) from inside a bamboo plantation in Savar’s Ashulia. His face and head have deep injury marks.
His body was recovered from a bamboo grove in Nayapara area of Kathgara in Ashulia on Friday morning.
Deceased Anju Khatun (31) is the daughter of deceased Manowar Hossain of Ghagua Union of Sadar Police Station of Gaibandha District. He is said to have worked as an operator of a garment factory of the Ha-Meem Group from a rented house in Bagbari area of Ashulia.
According to the police, the locals informed the police station after seeing the body of a female garment worker inside a bamboo plantation in Kathgara Nayapara area of Ashulia in the morning. After receiving the information, the body of the deceased was recovered. An ID card was found around the victim’s neck. He was the operator of a garment factory belonging to Ha-Meem Group. It is believed that someone killed him and left him there.
Ismail Hossain, General Manager (GM) of Hamim Group’s TISWS factory, said that a female worker named Anju Khatun went home from the factory at around 9:15 pm yesterday. But he did not come to the factory this morning. Later the line supervisor called Anju but Anju did not pick up the phone.
Ashulia police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Bhajan Chandra said the police are trying to find out the reason behind the murder. Someone might kill him and leave him on his way back from work. Details in this regard will be given later.
