Theater Art Unit’s new play ‘Madhav Malanchi’, is a popular play of the time. Based on Mymensingh Geetika, the play was written by playwright director actor Bivas Chakraborty, directed by actress director Rokeya Rafique Baby. Today and tomorrow there will be two stagings of the play at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s Experimental Theater Hall. Every day the show starts from 7 pm.

The story of the play revolves around Madhava, the younger son of Durlabh Raja. After the death of Rani Mata, the king gave Madhava’s upbringing to Chandravan, the eldest daughter-in-law of the family. But due to fate, Durlabh Raja died due to disease. In the royal assembly, when the fortune was calculated by the royal astrologer, the name of the younger son Madhav came up as a suitable and worthy king. Out of jealousy, the elder brothers form an alliance and decide to kill Madhav. In order to save Madhav, Chandravan, the eldest daughter-in-law of the family, sent Sneher Madhav to Chardesh behind the scenes. When Madhav, who is helpless and helpless, is scared and has no direction, Malanchi, the princess of that country, comes to his side. The play Madhav Malanchi is about how the lost and disoriented Madhav finds his way back to his destined destination with the help of Malanchi’s consolation, fear and motivation to turn around.
