The 46th preliminary examination of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) will be held today. The examination will be held simultaneously in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh centres. This examination of 200 marks will start at 10 am and will continue till 12 noon.
Candidates can enter the center from 8:30 AM. Candidates must enter the center by 9:30 AM. No one will be allowed to enter the examination center thereafter.
As per the announced schedule, distribution of answer sheets will start at 9:30 AM. Besides, the question paper will be distributed at 10 am. No candidate can leave the center before 12 noon.
Urgent instructions regarding examination
Books, all kinds of watches, mobile phones, calculators, all kinds of electronic devices, any devices like bank/credit cards, jewellery, bracelets and bags are strictly prohibited in the examination centre. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination center with prohibited items.
Candidates should not cover their ears during the examination. Keep your ears open. If it is necessary to use any type of hearing aid in the ear, the permission of the commission must be obtained in advance along with the consultation letter of the specialist doctor.
If any candidate is found with these prohibited items in the examination centre, the candidate will be declared ineligible for the future employment commission examination along with cancellation of candidature due to violation of the rules of Bangladesh Civil Service (Age, Eligibility and Examination for Direct Recruitment) Rules 2014.
The government has appointed one executive magistrate for each of the 96 examination centers in Dhaka to maintain order inside and outside the center during the examination.
Additional 10 BCS (Administration) cadre officers have been appointed in the control room of the PSC Secretariat with powers of Executive Magistrates.
It is to be noted that PSC published the notification of 46th BCS on November 30, 2023 to recruit 3 thousand 140 people in various cadres.
In that notification, it was informed that most of the 3 thousand 140 posts will be taken in the health cadre. There are 1 thousand 682 BCS assistant surgeons, 16 assistant dental surgeons. After that, the maximum number of 920 people will be taken in education cadre.
Apart from this, 274 people will be taken in BCS administration, 10 in foreign affairs, 80 in police, 14 in Ansar, 49 in BCS family planning, 26 in fisheries and 65 in public works.
