3 lakh 38 thousand candidates are participating in the 46th BCS preliminary examination. The examination will be held simultaneously in 215 centers of 8 divisional cities of the country. This exam of 200 marks will start from Friday morning till 12 noon.

According to PSC notification, the number of vacancies in various cadres in 46th BCS is 3 thousand 140. Most of these will be taken in the health cadre. 1 thousand 682 assistant surgeons, 16 assistant dental surgeons will be recruited. Apart from this, the highest number will be taken in education cadre. 520 people will be recruited from this cadre for BCS education in various subjects. 274 in administration, 10 in foreign affairs, 80 in police, 14 in Ansar, 26 in fisheries and 65 in public works.

Bangladesh Public Works Commission (PSC) has already given some instructions to the candidates on this occasion. In a notification of the institution, it is said that the candidates should take their seats before 9:30 am. After that the gate of the examination center will be closed. At this time the distribution of answer sheets will start. Besides, the question paper will be distributed at 10 am. No candidate can leave the center before 12 noon.

Books, all kinds of watches, mobile phones, calculators, all kinds of electronic devices, any devices like bank/credit cards, jewellery, bracelets and bags are strictly prohibited in the preliminary examination centre. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination center with prohibited materials.

At the gate of the examination center in the presence of the Executive Magistrate and the police, the candidates have to enter the examination center through the search of prohibited items including mobile phones, watches, electronic devices with the help of metal detectors.

SMS will be sent to all the candidates mobile phones not to bring the mentioned prohibited items on the day of examination. Follow the SMS instructions. Candidates should not cover their ears during the examination, they should keep their ears open. If it is necessary to use any type of hearing aid in the ear, the permission of the commission must be obtained in advance along with the consultation letter of the specialist doctor.

If a candidate is found with these prohibited items in the examination center, the candidate will be declared ineligible for the future employment commission examination along with cancellation of the candidature of the concerned candidate due to violation of the rules of Bangladesh Civil Service (Age, Eligibility and Examination for Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2014.

Meanwhile, the government has appointed one executive magistrate for each of the 96 examination centers in Dhaka to maintain order inside and outside the center during the examination.

On Tuesday (April 16), the Ministry of Public Administration announced that the 46th BCS Preliminary Examination (MCQ) will be held simultaneously in 96 centers of Dhaka from 10 am to 12 pm on April 26.

An executive magistrate has been appointed for each of the 96 examination centers in Dhaka to maintain order inside and outside the center during the examination.

It also informed that additional 10 BCS (Administration) cadre officers have been appointed in the control room of the Public Service Commission (PSC) Secretariat with powers of Executive Magistrates.

The notification also said that the executive magistrates appointed for the centers of Dhaka have been instructed to attend the briefing seminar held at PSC Bhawan on April 23 at 11 am. Besides, instructions have been given to report to the Public Works Commission Secretariat on the day of the examination i.e. 26th April.
