A student named Mahin Ahmed (13) has been killed by the garbage truck of South City Corporation in Mugda of the capital. Mahin Motijheel was a class VII student of Ideal. In this incident, the garbage truck was seized and the driver was arrested by the police.
Mahin is a resident of Mugda. Yesterday Thursday (April 25) left home at 8:30 pm to meet friends. Later Mahin was hit by a garbage truck of South City Corporation in Madinabagh area. He was first taken to Mugda Hospital. Later, when his condition worsened, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Mahin’s mother Jochna Akhtar said in a tearful voice, ‘He told me in the evening that he will go to his uncle’s house. I agreed and said, go tomorrow morning. Mahin said, he will go to his uncle’s house in the evening after playing sports. And Mahin did not return.’
Elder brother Mahfuz also broke down in tears after losing Mahin. Relatives claimed that the garbage truck was running very recklessly. The driver was also drunk. He should be given exemplary punishment.
Deputy Inspector of Mugda Police Station. Zainal Abedin confirmed the death of Mahin in the accident and said that after the incident, the garbage truck of South City Corporation was seized and the driver was arrested. Legal action will be taken soon.
