Police recovered the body of a child named Romjan Ali (11) in Parvatipur, Dinajpur, three days after he went missing.
The body was recovered from the pond in Deviduba area of Belaichandi Union on Friday (April 26) morning. He is the son of Kamruzzaman of Deviduba Abasan.
It is known that four years ago, the child’s father started living with his family from Gowalhat in the neighboring Syedpur upazila. His family consists of wife Ran, two sons Mamun Ali, Romjan Ali and daughter Shireen. On April 21, Ranu Begum went to her sister’s house to get married with Mamun and Shirin. At that time, Romjan Ali and his father, van driver Kamruzzaman, were staying at home. Locals said that Ramzan went home after bathing in the residential pond next to the house with his friends on Wednesday afternoon. Since then, Romzan Ali was missing. The father returned home in the evening and looked for his son even though he could not find him.
A local Ayub Ali first saw baby Ramzan floating in the pond of Baghachra Deviduba residence around 7 am on Friday. After receiving information, Parvatipur Model Thana Police reached the spot and recovered the body. At that time, the key of the house was found in the house of the child Ramjan. In this incident, Phulbari Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Farhad Hossain, Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Chitta Ranjan Roy, Inspector (Investigation) Hafiz Md Raihan visited the scene.
OC Chitta Ranjan Roy said, the body has been recovered for autopsy. After receiving the report, the exact cause of death will be known.
