The price of chicken increased after Eid. The price of golden chicken has increased by more than 30 rupees compared to last week. However, broiler chicken prices remain unchanged. Beef prices also remained unchanged.
Today (Friday) in the Khilgaon market of the capital, golden chicken is being sold at the price of Tk 390. Which was sold during Eid at the price of 360 taka. And broiler chicken is being sold at Tk 200 to Tk 210 per kg.
According to traders, it was sold at Tk 250 per kg during and after Eid. As a result, the price has decreased.
But buyers say broiler chicken prices have not come down. Earlier, broiler chickens were sold at Tk 200-210 per kg. And the big one was sold for 210-220 taka. Still selling at that price. And golden chicken used to be sold at 350-360 taka. Now its price has increased to 390 rupees. And real desi chicken is not available very much. If available, it is sold at 700 to 800 taka per kg.
Chicken trader Shihab told Dhaka Post that he sold broiler chickens at Tk 350 per kg during Eid. Its price has reduced and now it is being sold at Tk 200 to Tk 210. And I sold golden chicken pieces for 360 taka. Now its price has increased and is being sold at 390 rupees.
This businessman also claims that the retail level has to be sold at a higher price as the price has increased at the wholesale level in the market.
Khilgaon market was seen, Guru’s meat is being sold for 800 rupees. And if you take a little more bone, the price is kept at 780 taka. Besides, other parts of the cow were seen to be sold at different prices. And 1100 to 1200 taka of goat meat.
Rafiqul Islam, who came to market in Khilgaon raw market, said that the price of vegetables is the same as last week. This does not mean that the price is low. However, the price of all types of chicken has increased.
He said, buying and eating fish and meat has become a luxury now. But for small boys and girls at home, they have to buy a lot.
Rafiqul Islam claims that in fact anarchy is going on in the market. There is no one to see it. Traders raise prices whenever they want. Customers are hostage to them.
