Dhaka: The prices of broiler chickens have fallen in the markets of the capital in the span of a week due to intense heat. It is being sold at the rate of Tk 210 reduced by Tk 20 per kg.
However, the price of all types of fish has increased by Tk 20 to Tk 50 per kg this week. On Friday (April 26) these facts were known after visiting the capital’s Sheorapara and Taltala markets and talking to buyers and sellers.
Broiler chicken is being sold at Tk 210 per kg. Broiler chickens were sold at Rs 230 last week. In the markets, golden chicken is selling at Tk 370 per kg, golden hybrid at Tk 360, domestic chicken at Tk 650 to Tk 680, layer at Tk 350 and white layer at Tk 330.
Due to the intense heat, the chicken is being sold at a low price due to the fear of dying, said the chicken seller of Shewrapara. meeting He said, the price is not going to decrease at this time, I sold it last week at Tk 230. Chickens are having heat stroke in summer. So small chickens are being sold at low prices to avoid losses.
All kinds of vegetables are being sold at high prices in the Friday market like last week. Kachurmukhi 80 taka per kg, brinjal 50 to 60 taka, bitter gourd 80 taka, patal 60 taka, gourd 60 taka, barb at 80 taka, cucumber 60 taka, gourd 40 to 60 taka each, papaya 50 taka each, dhundal 80 taka, chichinga 60 taka , Kachur Lati 80 Taka, Jinge 80 Taka, Sajan 160 Taka and raw mangoes are being sold at 80 to 120 Taka depending on the type.
Radishes are being sold at Tk 50 per kg, beans at Tk 70 to Tk 80 per kg, cauliflower at Tk 40 to Tk 50 each, cabbage at Tk 40 to Tk 50, broccoli at Tk 40, ripe tomatoes at Tk 40 to Tk 60 per kg and carrots at Tk 60 per kg. Lemon Hali is selling at Tk 20 to Tk 60, coriander leaves at Tk 200 to Tk 220, raw banana at Tk 40, sweet pumpkin at Tk 40 to Tk 50 and green chillies at Tk 80 to Tk 120.
Red vegetables are sold at Tk 10, gourd vegetables at Tk 30, radish vegetables at Tk 15, spinach at Tk 10 to Tk 15, Kalmi vegetables at Tk 10. Domestic onion is being sold at Tk 65, potato at Tk 55 per kg in the markets.
Beef is being sold at Tk 650 to Tk 750 per kg, beef liver at Tk 750, beef head at Tk 450, beef leg at Tk 350 to Tk 400 and goat meat at Tk 1,500 to Tk 1,100 per kg. On the other hand, a dozen red eggs were sold at Tk 120, duck eggs at Tk 180, domestic chicken eggs at Tk 85.
Prices of all types of fish have gone up over the week as supplies dwindled.
