Aajkal Webdesk: At least 30 people died of heat stroke in Thailand this year. A fresh warning has been issued due to the intense heat wave. The country’s government issued this warning on Thursday. According to international media sources, an extreme heatwave warning has been issued in the capital, Bangkok. Temperatures in the tourist city are feared to exceed 52 degrees Celsius. A temperature of 40.1 degrees Celsius was recorded there on Wednesday.
According to the Ministry of Health of Thailand, at least 30 people died of heat stroke in the country from January 1 to April 17. Earlier in 2023, 37 people lost their lives due to heat stroke in the country.
Direk Khampayen, deputy director general of Thailand’s disease control department, said government officials urged the elderly and those suffering from obesity and long-term illnesses to stay at home and drink enough water.
Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand, usually have the hottest weather in April. But due to the El Nino weather conditions, this year has taken a terrible shape.
For the past few days, there has been a severe heat wave in various countries of South and Southeast Asia. Schools in the Philippines have been suspended in such a situation.
